REPT function in Excel

Use

REPT function is used to repeat a character for a certain number of times. For example, =REPT(“1”,4) results in “1111”.

Syntax

=REPT(text, number_times)

where,

text required is the text you want to repeat.

number_times required is a certain number of times you want to repeat the text.

Example

To get letter “A” for 5 times, do the following simple steps:

1. Select a cell, type =REPT(“2”,5) and press Enter.

3. Excel will repeat the letter 5 times.
