Restrict date to be entered

Follow these steps to restrict date to be entered and cell should accept only desired date (e.g. Friday only):

1– Suppose in a current month, we have Friday on these dates.

 

2– Select range from C3:C5.

 

3– From ‘Data’ tab, select ‘Data Validation’ option in ‘Data Tools’ window.

 

4– Select ‘Date’ option from the drop-down menu of ‘Allow’.

 

5– Choose ‘equal to’ from ‘Data’ option.

6– Type SUM funtion, ‘=sum(C3:C5)’ to select desired dates.

 

7– Press ‘OK’ and write any date other than mentioned in step 1.

Excel will show error.

8– Now write any date mentioned in step 1.
